Walk through the doors of the Denault Library, and you’ll be tempted to join the students reading on couches in front of the fireplace. Move further into this light, welcoming space and you’ll find separate areas for reading, storytelling, research, video-viewing and homework. The Library includes a collection of approximately 15,000 items (books, videos, magazines, etc.); a bank of 16 computers (5 Macs and 11 PCs) for word-processing, CD-ROM use, and Internet access. The librarians work with students in preschool through grade eight to develop a love of books and the exploration of ideas while providing an environment for self-directed learning and research. Most of all, the Library is the place for generating the “spark of magic that will send kids back to books again and again.”
